L'Índia (en hindi भारत, Bhārat), oficialment la República de l'Índia, és un país situat al sud de l'Àsia. És el setè país més gran del món en superfície, el segon més poblat i limita amb l'oceà Índic al sud, amb el mar d'Aràbia a l'oest, el golf de Bengala a l'est; amb el Pakistan a l'oest; amb la Xina, el Nepal i Bhutan al nord-est; i amb Bangla Desh i Birmània a l'est.
